Myanmar found two more COVID-19 patients in Shan and Yangon

Myanmar has found two more COVID-19 patients on May 19 bringing the total number of patients to 193 and 104 people recovered from the virus till May 19, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on the night of May 19.

The COVID-19 case-192 patient is a 30-year-old woman who lived in Taunggyi, southern Shan State and the case-193 is a 60-year old woman who lived in South Oakkalapa Township, Yangon Region. Although they have no contact with COVID-19 patients, both of them had travelled to the United Arab Emirates, it said.

They have been quarantined in Hlaing Township and they will be sent to Waibargi hospital.

A total of three COVID-19 patients: case-34, case-122 and case-157, are found negative twice and up to 104 people are recovered from the virus on May 19. 91 of them are being discharged from the hospital and being monitored in designated areas.

A total of six confirmed patients died and there are 67 people under investigation of COVID-19 from May 18 to 19, announced the MOHS.

On the morning of May 19, the MOHS announced they found three more COVID-19 patients in Ayeyawady and Magway regions and Rakhine State. One of them is a 50-year old man who lived in Taungtwingyi Township, Magway Region and another man is 25-year old who lived in Taunggut Township, Rakhine State. The last one is a 20-year old man who lived in Pantanaw Township, Ayeyawady Region. They had travel history to Malaysia and they were being quarantined in their townships.
