Myanmar’s super-fast Internet usage levels Asian countries

A total of 80 per cent of population in Myanmar are using smartphones and superfast internet usage is level to that of Asian countries, according to Telenor digital report.
Indexes in telecommunication sector are showing Myanmar is likely to be equal or have overtaken neighbouring countries due to modernized technologies and policies, sources said.
Myanmar is leading in providing 3G/4G network among Asean countries and covered 90 per cent of population in Myanmar.
Although internet and smartphone usages are increasing in Myanmar, the use of technology in domestic businesses is low. Myanmar needs to establish digital businesses to deal with important challenges, the report said.
