Deadline extended for Telenor MBA Scholarships Application

Telenor MBA Scholarship applicants now have more time to prepare their applications as the application deadline has been extended to July 15.
Telenor MBA Scholarships program is a collaboration of Telenor Myanmar and Myanmar Metropolitan College to offer full scholarships to Myanmar students pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic ICT Management. The two organizations officially signed an agreement on this significant partnership last month in Yangon.
The program becomes the first ever scholarship opportunity available in Myanmar dedicated to those who are particularly interested in the emerging telecom industry and the country’s economic development. Winners will get full stipend forMBA in Strategic ICT Management in addition to MBA course awarded from the University of Business and International Studies in Switzerland which affiliates with Myanmar Metropolitan College.
“This MBA Scholarship program is believed to contribute hugely in the country’s journey towards a digital future and its human resources development. As Telenor’s senior experts will also deliver lectures to the students, this will be an excellent opportunity for ambitious Myanmar youths to get equipped with vital skills and expertise for the future, and to earn an MBA from a foreign university and specialized in the ICT technology. Myanmar youths who want to prepare for their role with practical and efficient knowledge and skills are strongly encouraged to apply. I also like to extend my gratitude to Myanmar Metropolitan College for joining hands in this partnership with Telenor,” said Min Thu, the head of Business Sustainability in Telenor Myanmar.
“We decided to extend the deadline one more week than previous plan aswe learnt that there are many students interested to apply for the scholarships. We would like to make sure as many students as possible can apply for the MBA scholarships which could be a breakthrough opportunity for them to make their dreams come true,”added Min Thu.
Strongly supporting the government’s mission towards a digital Myanmar, Telenor Myanmar has established the best mobile network in the country — the vital digital infrastructure required for Myanmar’s digital ascent. Furthermore, a number of corporate social responsibility initiatives including MBA scholarship and other education programs are being carried out to raise industry-ready talents and to strengthen foundations towards digital Myanmar.
Any Myanmar citizen who has graduated with strong academic merit, with financial needs, and having a dream to contribute to the improvement of a business, social or public organization —using ICT/technology as sustainable solution — are eligible to apply for the Telenor MBA Scholarship. Applications are open online until July 15 for the upcoming intake of September 2018.
