Old stone statues found in Kyauktaw

OLD stone statues were found near Mae Taung Village-tract by a man who was travelling to Mae Taung Tharsi Village on 15 June.
U Aung Thein Htun, 41, was travelling in his mini truck on the Mae Taung Village-tract road, when his mini truck broke down. In the meantime, he went to fetch some water from a creek to the west of the roadside and found three statues.
One statue, which was 27 inches high, was shaped in the form of a god. Another statue of 18 inches was in ruins.
The third statue was a flat stone with round-shaped stones on it and the letter Z on it.
All the statues were dug out from the creek with the help of villagers.
The officials concerned will take the necessary steps.
